There are many different kinds of foundation courses in the UK.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE FOUNDATION

For students who do not have an appropriate level of English. (The applicant is not eligible for a student loan to cover the cost of this course.)

GENERAL FOUNDATION YEAR

For students who cannot decide what they want to do and need a little extra time to improve their grades. Although students may improve their English on this course, it is generally believed they will enter with a good level of English. Generally covered by the SLC (Student Loan Company).

SUBJECT SPECIFIC FOUNDATION OR YEAR 0 OF A DEGREE COURSE

For students who need a little extra work in specific subjects at Undergraduate level, in the same university.
Generally covered by the SLC (Student Loan Company).

U.K POSTGRADUATE & UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES DIPLOMAS

TITLES OFFERED BY UK UNIVERSITIES

A two year degree which is usually more vocational and will accept students with lower entry requirements. There is the option to do a ‘Top-up year’ to gain a full degree.

Generally covered by the SLC (Student Loan Company).

  • BEd (Bachelor of Education)

ENGLISH LANGUAGE QUALIFICATIONS

The most acceptable titles for entry into UK Universities are:

  • (IELTS) International English Language Testing
  • Cambridge Proficiency
  • IGCE
  • TOEFL
  • GCE A-Levels

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR UK UNIVERSITIES

The Lyceum graduate can register in a UK University providing that:

  • Have a good Apolitirion grade
  • Have good command of the English Language

Additional qualifications e.g A levels are considered on an individual basis.

DUE DATES FOR APPLICATIONS TO BE ACCEPTED

The candidates for most Undergraduate courses in UK Universities must apply through UCAS by January 15th of each calendar year.

The deadline for Medicine, Veterinary and Oxbridge is 15th October

After the deadline expiration date, special procedures have to be followed and K.F.P can offer solutions and advice. Some universities also offer direct application forms.
